There are three ways to check email on most devices: IMAP, POP, and the webmail. For a list of pros and cons between POP and IMAP, please google "POP vs IMAP".
Email programs vary quite a bit in how the email account setup wizard works, and most of the time they aren't very good at auto-detecting mail settings for independent providers like Giant Communications. Below is a list of the settings required to set up your email account.
